51677 - Finally: Snow has returned to the Alps!

The Alps have suffered weeks of sunshine, but it's finally time to re-start winter again! Starting yesterday afternoon and continuing throughout the night, it's been snowing like mad in many ski resorts, bringing a much-needed coat of fresh powder to the slopes. This morning, skiers and snowboarders woke up to some beautiful wintery scenery. We're here to share the webcams with you!

Spring skiing conditions over the last few weeks

The Snowplaza team has been out and about in the Alps since Christmas and we can report that ski resorts haven't exactly been suffering. On the contrary, the cold-but-sunny weather has allowed for plenty of artificial snow to be produced, resulting in spring skiing conditions in most resorts. However, any real skier or snowboarder will agree that natural snow is way better than artificial snow! So we're happy happy to see that the clouds have moved back in and are gracing the mountains with a fresh coat of white. From Monday the weather is expected to be dry and sunny again so let's enjoy it while we can!

About Danielle

Born and raised in the ski paradise of Vancouver, Canada, I learned to ski before I can remember, balancing precariously on my parents’ skis as they sailed down the hill. I started snowboarding in my teens and am now delighted to be exploring everything Europe’s ski scene has to offer!
