In the heart of the Zillertal region is the ski resort of Zell am Ziller which is part of the ski area which goes under the name of the Zillertal Arena and is made up of aound 170km of ski slopes. This enormous network of ski slopes extends across three mountains, for more than 20km and connects the resorts of Zell am Ziller, Gerlos and Königsleiten and Gerlosplatte. Gerlos is where the nightlife is located and Königsleiten is the most peaceful.
Zell am Ziller is an ideal holiday spot for families and for those looking for more reasonable prices. The ski runs in this ski area are predominantly red which makes this an excellent choice for a ski holiday for intermediate skiers who want to improve their skills on a varied choice of slopes. There are 200km wonderful cross-country ski trails in the Zillertal Arena. Parents are spoilt for choice here, there are so many different options for childcare and ski school, it's sometimes easier to let the kids choose!
