Skiers and snowboarders in many of the ski resorts in the French Alps woke up to an early Christmas present today: a fresh dump of snow! The snowfall is expected to continue throughout today and tomorrow, but unfortunately temperatures are expected to rise again Saturday with possible rainfall in some of the valleys. So check out the lovely webcams and enjoy it while you can!
Although the Alps got off to a slow start this year, most of the alpine ski resorts should have enough snow for a successful Christmas ski holiday. Last night Austria and Switzerland also got a few centimetres of the white stuff. Will the UK have a White Christmas? Unfortunately, probably not. The higher-than-normal temperatures are expected to continue through the next week and Christmas will most likely be clear and mild in most of Britain, with some scattered showers.
