51899 - Webcams: Fresh snow across the Alps!

In honour of this Wednesday we bring you... fresh snow! It's snowed in all alpine countries and snowfall is expected to increase over the next few days. Yesterday afternoon France and Switzerland saw fresh snow, which slowly spread to other areas of the Alps. This means we have some lovely webcam images to share with you this morning!

Fresh snow in all alpine countries

It's snowed not only at high-altitude ski areas but also at lower altitudes in Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France. Many ski resorts were in dire need of this snowfall, which has been welcomed by skiers and snowboarders. France received the most snow (about half a metre) and Austria got the shorter end of the stick, with only 20cm. The western Alps are also experiencing heavy winds, keeping some of the lifts closed for today.

About Danielle

Born and raised in the ski paradise of Vancouver, Canada, I learned to ski before I can remember, balancing precariously on my parents’ skis as they sailed down the hill. I started snowboarding in my teens and am now delighted to be exploring everything Europe’s ski scene has to offer!
