Ski areas Upper Austria

Upper Austria The Austrian federal state of Upper Austria is located in the north of the country and borders the federal states of Salzburg, Lower Austria, and Styria. It offers 45 different ski resorts, each with distinct attractions and character. Besides skiing, other winter activities are also popular in Upper Austria. Cross-country skiers, winter hikers, and snowshoe enthusiasts will also find plenty to do here.

One of the largest ski resorts in Upper Austria is Skiregion Dachstein West, formed by the villages of Gosau, Russbach, and Annaberg. When purchasing a multi-day ski pass here, you also get access to seven other ski regions in the area. Over 160 km of slopes in total! Upper Austria is also home to one of the most famous spa resorts. In Bad Ischgl (Salzkammergut), you can benefit from extensive wellness benefits during your stay. In the far north, on the border with Germany and the Czech Republic, lies the rustic Klaffer am Hochficht, and all the way south is the UNESCO World Heritage-listed village of Hallstatt.
