Ski areas Valais

Valais is located in the south-west of Switzerland, where people speak both German and French. This is why the canton is also called Wallis. Winter sports in a region where many mountain tops are over 4,000 m high are a whole different experience. This Swiss canton is home to some of the most impressive destinations. For example, the iconic Matterhorn in Zermatt, or the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps, with over 22 kilometres in length.

During your winter sports holidays in Valais you'll be surrounded by four-thousanders. You can ski there in some of the most beautiful ski resorts in Switzerland. Think of the challenging Zermatt, the child-friendly ski resort of Grächen or the mundane Crans-Montana. Les 4 Vallées, one of the largest ski resorts in the Alps, is also in Valais. Due to its high altitude, this region is always snow-sure and pleasing to the eye.
