Bellwald (Switzerland)

This originally farming village lies in the Rhône valley at an altitude of 1560 metres. The typical wooden cottages, darkly coloured because of the wind and sun, still exist in Bellwald. The pleasant atmosphere, the tranquillity and excellent restaurants make this a fine winter sports destination. Most accommodation is located outside the traditional village centre, which means they are generally near the ski slopes or the ski bus stop.
