Crans-Montana in short

  • Queues are short
  • Snow cannons assure snow coverage
  • Good facilities for snowboarders

This vast, sunny skiing area is completely enclosed and is well-known for the wonderful welcome it gives to children and for the excellent snow cover guaranteed by its glacier. Currently, Crans Montana is a fantastic tourist complex with excellent infrastructure - plenty of car parks and a modern, well designed ski lift system. The merger between the ski resorts of Crans and Montana now means that everyone is in for a treat in this ski area. The runs near the two resorts are particularly suitable for children and beginners so expert skiers looking for stimulating skiing venture further into this vast area. They will have plenty of black runs, plus some challenging off-piste or even the World Cup slopes to keep them busy!

This ski area in Switzerland is actually spread over three areas: Cry d’Err, Violettes and Amiona. Most of the slopes are south facing and below 2,300m which makes for warm, sunny skiing. However, they can suffer from too much sunshine so this is when 160 snow cannons take over the job. Crans-Montana is an ideal ski resort for intermediates, with plenty of wide, long, red and blue runs. There are three nursery areas for beginners, with the Ski School at Grand Signal, above the village. Snowboarders are well catered for too, with snow parks at Pas du Loup and near the Plumachit ski lift. Cross country skiers have a wide choice in Crans-Montana, with 17km of easy trails around the golf course, and 17km of trails at a higher altitude with some wonderful scenery to admire.

Fantastic snow this year again! Last year stayed in Crans, this year in Montana - certainly noticed the difference in prices and think we'll be returning to Mo...

Geneva is a wonderful jumping-off point for many ski resorts. Located on the border between France, Switzerland and Germany, it is within short reach of some of the best skiing in the Alps. Once you’ve landed, renting a car is an easy way to get to your destination with all your ski gear, but it’s also possible to take trains. Here i... More ›

It’s sport like no other, a sport that fills you with a rush of adrenaline as you sail down the side of a mountain in a whirl of white powder. Skiing has come a long way since its origins as a convenient mode of transport, and the Alps has almost always been at the forefront. Responsible for popularizing the sport and then making it accessible to the middle class, the Alps have overseen the rise of skiing from a rich person’s holiday novelty to one of Europe’s favourite pastimes. Today, horde... More ›
