# 1. Speed and race slopes

Are your kids progressing by leaps and bounds in their skiing ability? Challenge them to a mini-race on one of the special speed slopes. There are a number of them scattered throughout the Skicircus, both slalom and race tracks. Speed is measured from start to finish and you can view your scores once you reach the bottom.

# 2. Ice skating

If you’re looking for a diversion from skiing, take the children to Hinterglemm, which has a lovely outdoor skating rink open daily from 10am to 10pm. Alternately, check out the Natureislaufplatz Ritzensee, a gorgeous natural skating rink that is illuminated at night (also open until 10pm). Travelling with teens? You might try an adrenaline-filled round of snow tubing, open to anybody 120cm or taller.

# 3. Snow trails

Scattered in the ski area are several snow trails . These routes are close to the slopes and take you on natural terrain. Everything on these 'slopes' is made by Mother Nature. Along the way you will pass tight curves, jumps and hills that make the route extra exciting. The slopes are prepared and made of real snow. Artificial snow is not used on these slopes, so they are closed when there is too little snow. The Snow Trails are clearly marked with flags and on the piste map.

# 4. SkiMovie pistes

As their skiing or snowboarding skills improve, your kids will become increasingly proud of their achievements. Save yourself the trouble of filming and capture the moment on one of the SkiMovie pistes, which records pictures and short video clips of your child’s amazing feats. Data is linked to your ski pass and can be viewed online.

#5. Tobogganing

Tobogganing means ear-to-ear smiles and fun for the whole family. The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn offers several toboggan courses, not only on wooden sledges but also on a coaster. Try the toboggan run on the Reiterkogel, Leo’s Kufengaudi and the Timoks Coaster.

About Danielle

Born and raised in the ski paradise of Vancouver, Canada, I learned to ski before I can remember, balancing precariously on my parents’ skis as they sailed down the hill. I started snowboarding in my teens and am now delighted to be exploring everything Europe’s ski scene has to offer!
