Ski areas Tyrol

The Austrian state of Tyrol offers winter sports in superlatives. Spread across North and East Tyrol, you will find over 3,000 km of slopes in all categories, a modern lift network, more than 80 different ski areas and five glaciers to ski on. The winter sports possibilities are almost endless, and the Hintertux Glacier in the Zillertal can even be skied all year round! The north and east of the state are separated by the state of Salzburg, while Tyrol also borders Vorarlberg, Carinthia, Germany and Switzerland.

Tyrol offers a diverse range of ski resorts. The five glacier ski resorts Sölden, Hintertux Glacier, Stubai Glacier, Kaunertal Glacier and Pitztal Glacier, make the state incredibly snow-sure. This, however, also applies to non-glacier ski resorts such as Silvrette Arena Ischgl - Samnaun, Ski Arlberg and Gurgl. There is also no shortage of family-friendly destinations. Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is among the most child-friendly ski areas in the Alps, and ski areas such as the Zillertal Arena, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental, St Johann in Tirol and Ehrwalder Alm are also top ski areas for families. Fans of après-ski can also have a great time in Tyrol. In villages like Gerlos, Kirchberg and Westendorf, it's party night after night. But wherever you decide to stay, you will be greeted by the distinctive Austrian charm, which makes winter sports holidays in Tyrol so cosy and typical.
