Of the villages in the Saas Valley, Saas-Balen is the smallest. However, Saas-Balen certainly has a lot to offer. The authentic resort is an oasis of calm in contrast to the tourist packed [IL: CHWALL020]. There is one practice run for beginners here but no ski area so you need to visit the ski areas of the neighboring villages which can be reached with the free ski bus.

Hikers and cross-country skiers can be immediately embark on various trails and routes from here. Highly recommended is the trail that runs along the river Saas Vispa. Whoever visits Saas-Balen will appreciate this unique village, in a unique valley with a unique environment.
