Once in the ski resort of Kühtai, one no longer needs a car! This small village is the highest ski resort in Austria at 2020m of altitude, meaning there is snow here all through the season. Nearly all the ski lifts here start and finish right outside your front door which makes for very relaxing days on the slopes.
The 44km of ski slopes descend only a 500m altitude difference, which means they have been designed to accommodate easier runs making even the black slope greatly enjoyable for intermediate skiers. All this added together makes the ski area of Kühtai an ideal place for non-aggressive skiers who wish to combine skiing and relaxation on their ski holiday. This is a great resort for families or groups of intermediate skiers, although there is a lot of off piste terrain for those looking for a challenge.
