Whoever seeks the perfect combination of a small, but very versatile ski area, beautiful nature and a cozy feel, will be in the right place in the Damüls-Mellau ski area. The weather usually leaves nothing to be desired. When it’s foggy down on Lake Constance and the Rhine, the sun is usually shining up in the ski area of Damüls-Mellau. This beautiful, almost fairytale area has plenty of winter sports to offer and both beginners and experts can enjoy over 100 kilometers of scenic Austrian ski slopes with breathtaking views over Lake Constance. A lot of accommodation in the village is located on or very near the slopes, making everything easily accessible with lots of doorstep skiing available.
For several years now, the ski areas of Damüls and Mellau have been linked giving access to a large, snow-sure and varied ski area. Both experienced and less experienced skiers have lots of choice in both parts of the area. For beginners and children there are practice slopes at the various base stations and up in the ski area itself, there is a good range of blue slopes where they can build confidence. However, bear in mind that the connecting slopes of Damüls and Mellau - the “Wannen” racing slope - is quite challenging and therefore less suitable for beginners. Families with children will feel at home in both the resorts of Damüls and Mellau and the ski resort of Faschina is particularly suitable for beginners. Faschina's small ski area is not connected by lifts with Damüls and Mellau but offers plenty of practice slopes. For off-piste lovers, Damuls is also a popular ski holiday destination with the many opportunities available and excellent snowfall records throughout the season.
