Breckenridge

Breckenridge in Colorado is one of the most popular ski resorts in the USA. A former gold mining town, Breckenridge has retained its traditional Wild West feel and this extends to the adventurous spirit with which the locals approach their skiing! The ski area is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Denver International Airport, making it very easy to access from the UK. Breckenridge is owned by the Vail Resorts conglomerate and an "Epic Pass" will also grant you access to the other Colorado ski resorts of Beaver Creek, Keystone and Vail Mountain, easily accessible by ski bus.

The ski area of Breckenridge is divided into five peaks: the creatively named Peaks 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. sectors. The dry powder snow conditions that characterise America's Rocky Mountains make Breckenridge a paradise for freeriding enthusiasts. The off-piste terrain here is considered in-bounds and is controlled by avalanche patrol, meaning you don't have to worry about violating the terms of your insurance policy to grab a little bit of fresh powder. But it's not just crazy freeriders who will have fun at Breckenridge - there are miles and miles of approachable slopes here just waiting to be discovered by novice and expert skiers alike.
