This vast, sunny skiing area is completely enclosed and is well-known for the wonderful welcome it gives to children and for the excellent snow cover guaranteed by its glacier. Currently, Crans Montana is a fantastic tourist complex with excellent infrastructure - plenty of car parks and a modern, well designed ski lift system. The merger between the ski resorts of Crans and Montana now means that everyone is in for a treat in this ski area. The runs near the two resorts are particularly suitable for children and beginners so expert skiers looking for stimulating skiing venture further into this vast area. They will have plenty of black runs, plus some challenging off-piste or even the World Cup slopes to keep them busy!

This ski area in Switzerland is actually spread over three areas: Cry d’Err, Violettes and Amiona. Most of the slopes are south facing and below 2,300m which makes for warm, sunny skiing. However, they can suffer from too much sunshine so this is when 160 snow cannons take over the job. Crans-Montana is an ideal ski resort for intermediates, with plenty of wide, long, red and blue runs. There are three nursery areas for beginners, with the Ski School at Grand Signal, above the village. Snowboarders are well catered for too, with snow parks at Pas du Loup and near the Plumachit ski lift. Cross country skiers have a wide choice in Crans-Montana, with 17km of easy trails around the golf course, and 17km of trails at a higher altitude with some wonderful scenery to admire.
