Practically unknown outside Switzerland, the Aletsch Arena ski area offers a great range of skiing with some particularly stunning views - including those over the World Heritage site of the Aletsch glacier. This ski area includes the ski resorts of Riederalp, Bettmeralp, Fiescheralp and Blatten-Belalp which lie on a high, sunny plateau above the villages of Mörel, Betten and Fiesch. These typical Swiss villages are situated at high altitude and being surrounded by many other smaller villages, together create a unique atmosphere. Car traffic is often forbidden in the resorts which creates a pleasant and relaxing feel. There is also no shortage of hiking or ski-mountaineering possibilities here too. Read more ›
