The ski resort of Valloire, in the French Savoie region represents, together with the ski resort of Valmeinier, the largest ski area in the Haute Maurenne region. Three quarters of the 150km of runs are located near Valloire and hence, this resort represents the "ideal place to be“ for the true ski fanatic looking to discover this ski area although this ski area is particularly well-known for being suited to beginners and intermediate skiers.

A cable car connects Valmeinier to the ski area of Valloire, which together also offer 40km of cross-country trails with diffferent levels of difficulty. Snowboarders can make use of a snowpark which is equipped, among other facilities, with a halfpipe. The skiing conditions are remarkably good throughout the season due to mostly north-facing slopes. With nursery slopes at the top of the mountain, this is a great place for a mixed-ability group or for beginners who don't want to feel they're being left down in the village! There is some good off piste skiing to be discovered - a guide is recommended.
