Ski area Lake Louise

Lake Louise is situated in the stunning Banff National Park in Alberta, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. The third-largest ski resort in North America, Lake Louise offers 100km of pistes to explore. There are wide, easy slopes for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders, but also many slopes that challenge more experienced skiers. Off-piste fans should visit Lake Louise to ski in the notorious waist-high powder characteristic of North America's Rocky Mountains.

A trip to Lake Louise isn't complete if you don't schedule some days to enjoy the scenery. Banff National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to exotic Canadian wildlife like moose, wolves and the majestic grizzly bear! Nearby Banff, on the tracks of the historic Canadian Pacific Railway, is a popular destination and an easy day trip. Meanwhile, Lake Louise itself is a glacial lake with crystalline blue water. It freezes over in winter so you can enjoy some outdoor ice skating if you're in luck. Lake Louise organises regular events including torchlight dinner & ski evenings, guided snowshoe tours and plenty of cross-country and winter hiking trails to explore. Lake Louise is relatively easy to get to from the UK, around a 2-hour drive from Calgary International Airport with plenty of regular shuttles.
