On the Austrian side of the Zugspitze lies Berwang, the highest ski ski resort in the area. This peaceful spot is particularly ideal for families with children. Many of the ski slopes are perfectly accessible and stretch as far as the starting spot appreciated especially by cross-country skiers and hikers. At night the village has little amusement to offer apart from a few restaurants and tobogganing, but apart from that, the village is dominated by a serene tranquillity.
