This Austrian village at almost 2000 meters above sea level, lies on the banks of the lake with the same name - the Grundlsee, the largest lake in Styria. The village was discovered in the 1920s by two hunters, Franz Ferdinand and Schramel Köberl. We know that there were already people in the area between 65,000 and 31,000 BC making it one of the oldest inhabited areas of the country. The lake and surrounding mountains provide a stunning landscape where many winter sports activities can be enjoyed.
