The Pitzal ski area is packed with glaciers and majestic mountains reaching beyond 3000 meters of altitude. No other ski area in Austria can boast a cable car that takes skiers and snowboarders up to 3440m! Pitztal is one of Austria’s most beautiful ski areas and its long season, which begins in autumn and continues into the summer months, certainly adds to the long list of attractions here. Snowboarders can, of course, enjoy all of the wonderful slopes here but they now even have slopes completely dedicated to them.

There are 122km of wonderful slopes here and there is also no lack of local picturesque trails for cross-country skiing if you don't fancy hurtling down the mountain at high speeds. At such high altitudes, snow coverage is never an issue, however, it's worth noting that temperatures can get very low up as high as 3440 meters! The Pitztal ski area is well-known for being particularly family-friendly with its "Bambini-Freipass" for children under ten years old. This ski pass is free and allows them to ski on the Hochzeiger, in the Rifflsee ski area and on the Pitztal Glacier when accompanied by an adult. Pitztal Kinderland is kid's paradise and there is also has a ski school included.
