  • Height: 1020 - 2076 metres
  • Plenty of slopes for advanced skiers
  • Large snow park for freestylers
  • Our tip: Galfer ski route (9km)

Wildhaus offers skiing for the whole family. The chairlift is located just outside the town and whisks skiers and snowboarders up to Oberdorf (1230m). If you’re travelling with children, you can head to the children’s area in the valley where you’ll find three practice lifts, as well as a skating rink and cross-country skiing trails. Meanwhile, advanced skiers will want to head straight to the higher-altitude pistes on the Gamserrug (2076m). In total, the Wildhaus ski area has around 20 kilometres of pistes.

The Wildhaus ski area still has many drag lifts, which give you plenty of time to enjoy the views of the impressive Säntis Massif and the seven Churfirsten as you’re riding up the mountain. As for the skiing itself, it’s more geared towards intermediate and expert skiers, with only 3km of blue slopes. One of the high points is the marked, but not prepared, Galfer ski route to Grabs in the St. Galler Rheintal (9km, 1600m altitude change). Within the ski area you’ll also find a snow park (Snowland.ch) and funslope with curves and tunnels. The Wildhaus ski area boasts a wide selection of mountain restaurants (such as Berggasthaus Oberdorf and Gamsalp) where you can enjoy delicious Swiss cuisine during a day on the slopes. If you’re in the area for a few days, swing by neighbouring ski area Chäserrugg – Unterwasser/Alt St. Johann for a change of scenery.
