Wildhaus (Switzerland)

Just below the highest peak, the Säntis (2503 m) of north-east Switzerland sits Wildhaus. Together with neighboring villages Unterwasser and Alt. St. John, Wildhaus belongs to summer and winter sports holiday region of Toggenburg. Legend has it that a giant on the other side of this mountain wanted to build a big city in Appenzeller. The giant built many beautiful houses in the Montafon in Austria, put them in a big bag and walked back. When he passed Säntis, the bag ripped open and all the houses ended up in Obertoggenburg. In the end, the giant thought the scattered houses looked so nice, he left them where they were. Nowadays Toggenburg is primarily a holiday paradise and is especially good for children with 60 kilometers of ski and snowboard slopes and a fun park for snowboarders.
