Day trips possible to Milan and Verona
Perched in the Passo d’Aprica, a 1176m-high mountain pass that connects Teglio and Edolo, lies the Italian village of Aprica. Not far from the Swiss border, Aprica is especially popular as a winter sports destination for families and skiers seeking a relaxing ski holiday off the beaten path. The village has around 1600 inhabitants and boasts modern infrastructure set amongst a beautiful mountain landscape. A large portion of the accommodation is located directly on the slopes, with ski-in, ski-out access to the ski area. Off the slopes, the village also offers wellness areas, a climbing hall and a skating rink. Considering its relatively small size, the village also has a decent après-ski scene with a good number of bars and cafés.
The charm of this village lies in its position: most of the ski runs reach all the way to the village, making most of the town ski-in, ski-out. Beginner slopes and challenging pistes offer something for every ability level, and the village has a lively street scene once the ski day is over. The airports of Milan and Verona are both located about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from the Aprica ski area. It’s also an option to take a day trip to these towns for a change of scene.
