Puy Saint Vincent actually consists of two very different villages: Puy Saint Vincent 1400 and 1600. Puy St Vincent 1400 is a 700-year-old village with beautiful chalets and old, traditional buildings. In the sixties, a modern satellite ski resort was built at 1600 meters which consists of mainly high-rise buildings and most of the ski holiday facilities. Between the two villages is a lift that takes you to the ski area, which is over 1600 meters of altitude. There is only one beginner's ski slope in Puy Saint Vincent 1400. A major advantage of the location of Puy St Vincent is that it is protected from the wind by surrounding mountains and therefore hardly ever suffers from extremely low temperatures. This makes is even more popular with families.
