St-Jean-d'Arves (France)

Unlike many modern French ski resorts, Saint Jean d'Arves has a delightful old village centre. There are, of course, new developments, but only outside the centre where the ski lifts start from. The ski resort is geared towards families and shares its ski slopes with the more modern neighbouring ski resort of Le Corbier. The ski area has 90 kilometres of slopes, most of which are easily manageable. The famous Beaufort cheese, which forms the main ingredient of a cheese fondue, comes from this region - enjoy!
