Ski area Vancouver

Nestled at the southernmost tip of Canada’s west coast, Vancouver is a bustling metropolitan city with an unmistakable winter sport vibe. The city has three local ski resorts - Cypress, Grouse and Seymour - just a half-hour drive from downtown. All three mountains have night skiing and it is truly a beautiful view to see the lights glittering over the city as you land at Vancouver International Airport. Easily reachable from Europe with direct flights from London, Vancouver is also a gateway to many of the other ski resorts in BC including Whistler, which is a two-hour drive north of the city.

The weather in the Pacific Northwest is known to be wet and unpredictable so some years are better than others for skiing here. Since you can see all three mountains from the city centre, the locals keep an eye out for fresh snow days when many of them will drop everything and go skiing or snowboarding. International visitors will appreciate the low-key vibe of the local ski resorts. Despite the excellent variety of terrain including everything from freshly groomed cruisers to challenging mogul runs, the mountains are unpretentious and welcoming, with a high percentage of local skiers and snowboarders, some of whom come up every day after work.
