Ski area Big White Village

Repeatedly lauded for its family-friendly layout and incredible champagne powder, Big White is one of the biggest names in Canada’s ski scene. The resort is located near the city of Kelowna in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley and receives such an insane amount of snow that it’s named one of the chairlifts after its “snow ghosts,” trees entirely blanketed in snow. With a ski area starting at 1500m and climbing as high as 2300m, it’s no wonder!

Big White boasts expansive terrain, with 15 lifts and 118 pistes. The world-class snow park is suitable for park rats of all levels and was chosen to host the 2017 World Para Snowboard Championships. The ski area comprises a nice balance of beginner, intermediate and expert pistes spread across wide bowls and glades. This is complemented by a generous amount of pistes that are open for night skiing. Although the terrain is best for beginner and intermediate skiers, experts can tackle some moguls and trickier pistes. To get the most out of your skiing trip, hop on one of the guided ski tours that are offered free of charge every morning. Cross-country skiers can also enlist a guide to show them around the gorgeous scenic trails or explore on their own.
