The Mölltaler Gletscher is located near the village of Flattach and is the only glacier ski area in the state of Carinthia. The ski area extends to an altitude of 3,122 meters at the summit of the Schareck.
Access to the area is provided by the 'Mölltaler Gletscher Express', an underground funicular railway that transports winter sports enthusiasts to the station at 2,200 meters in just eight minutes. From there, the Eisseebahn gondola provides the connection to the glacier plateau, where the ski area opens up in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
