Ski area Laax

The ski resorts of Flims and Laax have connected their ski areas with that of Falera and now make up the vast "White Arena ski area" — the second largest linked ski area in Switzerland. The resorts have managed to conserve their individual identities, regardless of the large developments in tourism over recent years. In these parts one can still hear the neo-Latin dialects known as Retoromanzo! The new ski resort that arose from these changes is now known as Films Laax and is made up of four villages which are all very close together. Laax Murschetg is the main village, very close to the base station where everything happens at night. Laax Dorf is only a 5 minute bus ride from Laax Murschetg and it offers a more peaceful atmosphere which is great for families. Laax Cons is between Laax Murschetg and Laax Dorf allowing you to make the most out of both villages. Laax Salums offers particularly spectacular views of the surroundings.

This interconnected ski area is vast and is particularly good for more experienced skiers. There are, however, at least 120km of blue and red runs equally shared out across the ski area so don't worry if you are not a particularly experienced skier - there's something for everyone here! The free shuttle service, the great attractions for children (in particular 3 children's parks), and the long hours of sunshine make this an ideal holiday spot for families. 70% of the ski slopes in this ski area are above 2000m and there is easy access to the Vorab Glacier so snow conditions are rarely an issue here. For powder hounds, Laax also offers some excellent off-piste skiing. Snowboarding holidays in this ski area are exceptional with two snowparks and several halfpipes on offer.
