The lovely Spanish ski resort of Cerler is the highest village in the Aragon Pyrenees situated at an altitude of 1540 meters above sea level. It is near the village of Benasque and is part of the Aramon ski area. There is a good choice of restaurants on the slopes and in the ski resort. The apres-ski is lively, including some bars open up on the ski slopes.
This small, ancient village is perfectly preserved and even though it has become a popular ski resort, it has managed to retain the feel of a Spanish mountain village. There are many beautiful houses from the 16th century. There are a number of ski apartment complexes and plenty of facilities needed during your ski holidays. There are many restaurants around the ski slopes and in the ski resort and there is a lot of activity here. For a long time the village was completely inaccessible, the only transport that went from Benasque to Cerler were a couple of donkeys a week. In the 20th century, skiers had to walk to Cerler (or travel by donkey) and spend the night in one of the small village houses. Now there is a good access road to Cerler and the ski area.
