Ski area Gressoney

The Monte Rosa ski area was literally brought back to life in the 2003/04 winter season when the Funifor cable car started running and finally completed the long awaited link in the huge skiing circuit between the Valsesia and Gressoney La Trinite resorts which are themselves connected to Champoluc. The result of these links is over 190km of wonderful ski slopes spread out over the 3 valleys which are now managed by one tourist board. Regardless of these connections, the ski resorts here remain quiet and still demonstrate many signs of region's traditions.

The modern lift system takes you up to over 3500 metres where it's not just the altitude that will leave you feeling dizzy! The views across the Aosta Valley and Piemonte are simply astounding! To ski on the slopes of this giant, the Monte Rosa, with its peak at 4000m of altitude, is a truly unique experience! A lot of the high altitude runs are challenging and are therefore reserved for the more experienced skiers. There is also some excellent off-piste terrain, in particular at Alagna. Here you have the chance to practice heli-skiing if the ski area doesn't offer enough for you!!
