The small ski resort of Cordon is also called the "balcony of Mont Blanc" as the village overlooks this huge mountain. The village itself is situated at an altitude of 580 meters above sea level and is located near the town of Sallanches and the ski resorts of Chamonix and Megève.
Cordon is dominated by the Croisé Baulet mountain with its peak at 2236 meters. The ski area of Cordon is located at 1000m of altitude and is perfect for families as it does not have many difficult runs. For more demanding skiing, you can go to the Evasion Mont - Blanc. The village itself has a fantastic view over the Mont Blanc and consists mainly of fine wooden chalets and has a beautiful church, which was built between 1781 and 1787. Also there is a castle near Cordon which is worth visiting.
