Wedding ideas – why not get married in the Alps!

If you’re looking for an original wedding idea, why not getting married in the Alps? Imagine a real white wedding with snowflakes floating around you, fur coats (fake of course), beautiful snow-laden pine trees and wooden chalets with open fire places… If you and your future other half are mad about skiing or snowboarding, then what could be more perfect? You could even get married on the slopes so you don’t have to lose any skiing time! Now is the time to start looking, if you’re tempted by a winter wedding this coming ski season.

Why get married in the Alps?

There are lots of reasons to get married in the winter and even more reasons why you should choose to tie the knot in the Alps? One of the most important reasons is that you won’t have to deal with the stress about the weather – everyone will expect it to be cold and there’s always the chance of snow! If you decide to get married in the mountains, you’re pretty much guaranteed a white wedding – either with blue skies and the snow sparkling in the sunshine or with delicate snowflakes falling gently around you as you enter the church! Open fireplaces and cosy chalet-style dining just about top it off! How wonderful does that sound?

If you really want to make an entrance, then why not get married on Mont Blanc with the wedding party arriving by helicopter!

About Nikki

Being lucky enough to have parents who were crazy about skiing, my love for the mountains started when I was 4 years old on our first family ski holiday to Austrian ski resort of Obergurl. One ski holiday a year was never enough and tears rolled down my face as I looked out the back window of the car on the drive down the valley on the way home!
