There are campsites with private sanitary facilities, entertainment for children, wellness facilities, etc. Often the camps are on or near the slopes! Wohlfühlcamping Hell, Fügen

Although the name of this campsite suggests otherwise, this camping is complete heaven. The 5* Wohlfühlcamping Hell offers large pitches and extensive facilities: an indoor swimming pool, a wellness area (1500 m²), a fitness studio, 5* laundry and sanitary facilities and internet access. With a ski bus, you can easily reach the slopes of Fügen or one of the other ski areas in the Zillertal.

2. Ötztal Camping Umhausen, Umhausen

Ötztal Camping Umhausen is located at an altitude of 1,500 metres, at the foot of Tyrol's largest waterfall (Stuibenfall). The campsite has been run by the Krismer family for more than 25 years. Its pitches are equipped with electric hook-ups and Wi-Fi. In addition, you'll find modern and clean sanitary facilities with floor heating, a bathroom for babies and a sauna with a solarium. If you don't feel like cooking, you can visit the traditional Tyrolean restaurant Kaminstadl. The pistes of Oetz im Ötztal are 10 kilometres away.

3. Camping Aufenfeld, Aschau im Zillertal

A pitch with a private bathroom can be a great choice during a camping holiday in winter. At Camping Aufenfeld in Aschau im Zillertal, you can opt for a private bathroom next to your caravan. That way you don't have to queue up and carry your towel around the campsite. You can visit the  Jagdhof restaurant for an extensive breakfast or a hearty evening meal. There is also a lovely swimming pool (water temperature 30ºC). A free ski bus leaves every 30 minutes from the campsite to Hochzillertal-Hochfügen and the Zillertal Arena.

4. Ferienparadies Natterer See, Natters

Located a stone's throw from Innsbruck, Camping Ferienparadies Natterer See is distinguished by its tranquillity. The campsite is surrounded by forests and lies on the shores of lake Natters. The multifunctional main building is an architectural masterpiece and has won several awards. In this pine-wood-clad building, you will find the reception, library, a sunSEEbar, sanitary facilities, private bathrooms and relaxation areas. The nearest ski resort is the Mutterer Alm.

5. Aktiv & Familienresort Tiroler Zugspitze, Ehrwald

If you go winter camping, you might as well choose a more luxurious campsite. The 4* Aktiv & Familienresort Tiroler Zugspitze offers the perfect combination of a holiday resort and a campsite. Among other things, it boasts the Activity & Vitality World and a mini club with childcare from 3 years old. The campsite's luxurious sanitary facility has 15 private bathrooms. 6. EuroParcs Hermagor · Nassfeld, Hermagor

EuroParcs Hermagor · Nassfeld in the Carinthian town of Hermagor is open all year round and is located on the shores of lake Pressegg. This campsite is very child-friendly. It even boasts a large indoor playground where the kids can let off some steam. The AlpinSPA includes a heated outdoor pool, a whirlpool, a sauna and a steam bath. If you want to try something new, you can even rent 'wooden barrels' to sleep in!

7. Sportkamp Woferlgut, Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße

Camping Sportkamp Woferlgut is located at the beginning of the Großglocknerstraße, just a few kilometres from Kaprun and Zell am See. This campsite offers everything your heart might desire. There are luxurious sanitary facilities, but you can also choose to rent a private bathroom. Moreover, you can visit a wellness area, a cinema for children, a Pinzgauer farmhouse parlour and a hobby room.

For delicious breakfast and dinner, you can visit the 'Stüberl Tirol' restaurant, also an excellent destination for cosy evenings with live music. Moreover, the campsite features amazing wellness facilities.

9. Alpencamping Nenzing

Alpencamping Nenzing is among the best campsites in Austria and has been run by the Morik family for over 40 years. The camp is located only 4 kilometres from the motorway and is accessible in all weather conditions. It boasts a wellness area with an indoor and outdoor pool, a sauna world, an authentic restaurant, playgrounds and an exercise area for guests of all ages. Ski areas such as the Montafon, the Sonnenkopf and Damüls - Mellau - Faschina Schneereich are nearby.

Camping Mauterndorf is located right by the station of the 8-seater cable car that brings you to the slopes of the Großeck-Speiereck ski area. You can easily walk from the campsite to the skiing area. The campsite has everything your heart might desire, from spacious sanitary facilities, a restaurant and wellness to an extensive shop selling fresh bread. You can complete your skiing day with a drink at the Fliegenpilz après-ski bar.
