Ski area Zell am See

The Europa Sportregion ski area is made up of the ski areas of the resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun, including the ski area on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier above Kaprun. The charming village of Zell am See is nestled amongst the eponymous lake and the surrounding mountains. More than 30 years have passed since the first skiers tackled the ski slopes of Mounts Breiteck and Hirschkogel and, today, the Zell am See and Kaprun ski area covers nearly 140km of versatile slopes. The ski pass allows free use of the shuttle service between Kaprun and Zell am See.

The ski area at Zell am See offers pretty, tree-lined skiing ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers although there are several black runs for the more demanding skier. The views from the peak at Schmitten Pfiff overlooking the lake, with the breathtaking Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and the Grossglockner in the distance, will make even the keenest skier stop for moment to contemplate the surroundings. Kaprun offers an excellent range of slopes including some very high-altitude skiing, with, of course, guaranteed snow. The Schmittenhöhe and the Kitzsteinhorn ski areas offer challenging runs, while the Schmitten and Maiskogel are better suited to families on their ski holidays in Zell am See and Kaprun. The Maiskogel is tailor-made for your budding little skiers. The Kitzsteinhorn is particularly popular among freeriders and there are various snow parks where snowboarders can practice their tricks.
